Hyperhydrosis is the term for excess underarm sweating using BotoxVIEW TREATMENT >
Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, often starts during adolescence and continues into adulthood. It affects almost 2% of the population. Excessive underarm sweating can be very difficult to live with because it can affect social occasions and relationships, thereby having a negative impact on self-esteem. Botulinum toxin is the treatment of choice for hyperhidrosis.
Botulinum Toxin is a naturally occurring protein and is a prescription medicine. There are several brands of Botulinum Toxin on the market eg. Botox cosmetic™, Visabel™, Xeomin™. Botox™ must be administered by medical practitioners. At Springwell Clinic our nurses are all trained and have many years of experience using Botulinum Toxins.
A very fine needle is used to inject small amounts of BOTOX™ just under the skin. There is only a small amount of discomfort and anaesthetic cream can be used to numb the area if you wish. Occasionally this may cause a small bruise but other side effects are rare. Sweating is reduced within a few days and the results remain for up to 7 months.
If you suffer with excessive underarm sweating you can be treated for it with Botulinum Toxin. You cannot have BOTOX™ treatments if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have any allergies to BOTOX™, are taking certain antibiotics, or if you suffer from severe neuromuscular disorders. You will have a one on one consultation with your nurse prior to any treatment where you can discuss BOTOX™ fully to see if it is the right treatment for you? The price of the treatment is £495.
I've had this treatment 3 times now and it has changed my life. Before I had the treatment I was really embarrassed by the sweat marks on my clothes and I constantly worried that I would smell at work and when I went out with my friends. I read that BOTOX™ would help so I tried it not expecting it to work but it was amazing. Within 2 days I was 'normal' and it lasted so long. I relax now and don't worry like I used to.
Before you commence any treatment at Springwell Clinic you will have a free of charge consultation with your practitioner. This gives you the time to discuss all aspects of the treatment programme and its’ costs. A medical history is taken and a plan is created so that you are fully informed and aware of your journey ahead.
