What is Ultrasound Treatment?

Ultrasound is a safe non-surgical treatment using the body’s natural healing powers to gently and gradually lift skin that is lax or loose. The areas that are suitable for treatment are the eyebrows, under the chin, the neck, and to smooth lines and wrinkles on the chest.

How does it work?

The ultrasound beams are placed at the right depths to specifically target the deeper layers of your skin. The skin is rapidly heated causing the body to produce more elastin and collagen. The treatment takes 60-90 minutes. You will start to see an improvement in the skin tone between 3-8 weeks and then reduced sagging and increased elasticity over the next couple of months. The price for this treatment is £350 for the neck or £750 for the face and jaw line.

Who can be treated?

Ultrasound works for both men and women with early sagging and laxity of the face and neck. You cannot have the treatment if you are pregnant or breast feeding, have Bell’s Palsy, metal plates and pins in the jawline/cheeks, or any infective skin conditions.

Are there any side effects?

There is minimal downtime with mild tenderness, sensitivity and possibly swelling. This is generally all settled after 24 hours. The treatment itself is mildly uncomfortable. The improvements will develop over a period of 2 to 3 months and will continue over the following 6 months. The results last for a period of between 2 to 3 years.

I thought the only thing that would work in my saggy jawline would be a face lift until I read an article about ultrasound and for me it sounded like an option I'd prefer. It only needed one treatment, which was uncomfortable, but certainly tolerable. I know I won't get any results for 2-3 months but I'm excited to see how I will look
